We are open seven days a week, April 15th – September 15th from 10am – Late. By “Late” we mean that our closing times vary depending on how busy we are.
Example 1: If you are visiting on a Saturday during July, it is very likely that we will not close until 8pm or maybe even later. If you are wanting to rent any equipment, please allow enough time to do your paperwork, receive orientation, and still be able to enjoy the full duration of your rental before sunset to ensure the safety of you and our equipment.
Example 2: If you are visiting on a Tuesday in April, it is very likely that we will close around 6:30pm. From Memorial Day thru Labor Day, we are usually open until sunset. If you need a better idea of our closing time for a specific date, feel free to give us a call in advance.

Our Water Sports area is downhill from the nearby parking lot. However, our sidewalk from the Lodge to Water Sports is ADA accessible. Our most popular attraction of guests with disabilities is our lake cruises!
Ardmore is approximately 10 minutes north of us. There you will find many restaurants, hotels, shopping centers, Wal-Mart, grocery stores, etc.
Lake Murray Resort and Lake Murray Floating Cabins are walking distance from Water Sports. You may also rent a hotel room in Ardmore, approximately ten minutes north of Lake Murray.
If you're looking for snacks (candy bars, chips, sno-cones, etc.) look no further than our mini golf building! If you're looking for a nearby meal to fuel the family for your next adventure at Lake Murray, you have a couple of choices in the lake area. The Lookout Kichen is located in the lodge and resort area just across the parking lot. They are open 7 days a week and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fireside Dining is a great choice for a fine dining atmosphere, open for dinner Friday - Saturday. For a quick burger, pizza, or hot box food, you can visit Okies Corner.
Please remember, our lake is governed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and a boat is considered a licensed vehicle. You will also notice Park Rangers who patrol on land throughout the State Park. Whether you plan to be on or off the water, you must abide by state laws to protect yourself and others and also to avoid getting a ticket. Safety is priority, and we greatly appreciate the dedication of our Highway Patrol and Park Rangers to help regulate safety at Lake Murray. We ask that you take that into consideration, and please, use your best judgement while visiting.
Yes and no. Providing that you are abiding by Oklahoma Fishing Laws, you may fish from our rental boats, as long as you are not fishing inside our tires. Fishing is not allowed from the shoreline at Water Sports, simply because we do not want lost hooks in unwanted places. There is a great fishing pier that is walking distance or a short drive from Water Sports. Click here for more information on fishing at Lake Murray.
Although we are open to the public, we are NOT a public swim beach. Our swimming area is designated to customers who have paid to play on the water slides and water trampolines. If you would like to swim in the lake or enjoy a beach area without partaking in our services, there are many public swim beaches at Lake Murray State Park, most of which have nearby picnic tables, restrooms, and playgrounds. The nearest swim beach is Marina Beach, which is less than a five-minute drive from us.
Of course! There is no charge for you to swim with your kids while they are on the slides and trampolines. We do ask, however, that you have a life jacket with you in the water at all times. If you're in the water and decide you want to play on the slides and trampolines, please see one of our employees on the dock before getting on any equipment.
YES and yes! Everyone in the water is REQUIRED to have a flotation device. No one is allowed in the water without flotation!
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in our efforts to keep safety a priority!
On a WaveRunner, all ages must wear a life jacket! For boats (Island Cruisers, Big Kahuna, Fishing Boat, Kayaks, SUPs, PaddleBoats, Canoes, Sailboats, Cruises, etc.) Oklahoma Boating Law requires that children 12 and younger are required to wear a life jacket AT ALL TIMES. If you have an infant or toddler, and it is their nap time, their life jacket must be on properly. Ages 13 and up are required to have a life jacket easily accessible to them. We encourage you to have your life jacket on and properly buckled during your rental period.
Yes, please do so! If you are providing a life jacket for your child, please check that it is a Coast Guard Approved life preserver. If it is not, there will be a tag that says, “This is not a life saving device.” Only Coast Guard Approved life jackets will suffice.
No. Your gas and life jackets are included in your rental costs!
One of the most helpful rules to help ensure safety for you and our equipment is what we call the 150 ft. rule. You are required to keep your boat at least 150 ft. away from all other boats, docks, information buoys, and especially shoreline. The only thing that you can approach on a rental is a tie buoy for mooring purposes only. Following this rule at all times, even at idle speed or completely stopped, will help to prevent injuries and damages.
Not necessarily. This is a great question and refers, in-part, back to the 150 ft. rule. We understand that it seems more convenient to send one or two people to pick up a rental, then go somewhere else on the lake to pick up your group. However, this is not allowed for safety reasons. Everyone that rides on any of our rentals must first come to Water Sports to check in with our staff. Everyone must be present for safety orientation, sign a waiver stating they understand our rules, and be fitted for life jackets.
When renting a boat that requires a security deposit, you will need to provide a credit card as a security deposit. An open transaction will be held for the duration of your rental and will not be closed until all rented equipment is returned to us in the same condition as you rented. We encourage you to fully inspect your rental before leaving the premises with it. We inspect equipment both before it leaves and also when it returns. Safety is a priority, and we understand that damages can occur. We all know how quickly it can happen with our cars, and the same is true for boats. So please understand that you are fully responsible to pay for damages.
We only take reservations on Island Cruisers, the Big Kahuna, Lake Cruises, and Package Deals. If you would like to make a reservation, we require a $100 reservation deposit for Island Cruisers, Big Kahuna and Package Deals. For Lake Cruises, prepaid reservations are required. Call us today!
For 90% deposit refund, one week notice of cancellation is required. Otherwise, deposit is nonrefundable.
Our number one priority is your safety. In the event of thunderstorms at your departure time, you will have the option to reschedule your activity or receive a refund. If you are already on a water vessel and it begins to storm while you are out, we cannot refund your payment. If you are concerned about weather being an issue, please check in advance before making your reservation.
No, we do not offer daily rates on our WaveRunners for many safety reasons, both for the riders as well as the WaveRunner. You are welcome to rent for multiple hours, but if you are interested in renting for a full day, please consider renting one of our Island Cruisers or the Big Kahuna as these are our best alternative to offer you a WaveRunner for all day.
Short answer, no. We absolutely love pets, and we understand that they are part of the family too! While some pets do well on the water and on boats, others do not. So for the safety of our customers and equipment, we do not allow pets at Water Sports or on our rentals. Thank you for understanding.
All of our rentals must be returned by Sunset at the latest. If you are wanting to experience staying on the water, please visit Lake Murray Floating Cabins for an amazing experience.
We do rent these accessories if you are going to be towing them behind your personal boat or PWC. However, towing behind a rental is not allowed.
If you would like to utilize rentals at Water Sports (kayaks, combo, mini golf, etc.) and need a place to park your boat, please give us a call in advance so that we can help accommodate you and your boat. However, if you are needing a place to park overnight, we are not authorized to rent slips. For slip rentals, please contact Lake Murray Marina.
Of course! The price to utilize our course is $5.00 per person, even if you have your own clubs.
Yes, most likely, unless you are playing mini-golf. Prepare to get wet, just in case.
Yes! We have a few picnic tables and benches for our customers. If you're not a customer and just looking for a nice picnic area for you and your family, check out the nearby day-use picnic areas around the lake, such as Marina Beach or Pecan Grove.
We understand that kids enjoy feeding geese. Unfortunately, the more they are fed, the more they like to visit our premises, and the more they visit, the more they leave their deposits. No one likes to go to a beach with geese poop all around, and no one likes to step in it on the sidewalk or at mini-golf, so please, do not feed the geese. Thank you.
No Refunds. Not responsible for accidents. All equipment must be used in a safe and appropriate manner as instructed by staff. Unsafe use of any equipment will result in loss of deposit or fees paid, and customer will be removed from equipment. For 90% deposit refund, one week notice of cancellation is required. Otherwise, deposit is non-refundable. For the safety of our customers and equipment, we do not allow smoking or pets. Life Jackets are furnished on all watercraft and must be worn at all times.
