Island Cruisers

WHAT IS AN ISLAND CRUISER?

​An Island Cruiser offers a unique design of two boats in one. Every Island Cruiser is equipped with a water slide, upper deck, and propane grill.  Although similar to a pontoon boat, these boats are propelled by a WaveRunner; in other words, the WaveRunner is the boat's motor!  Once you have secured your Island Cruiser to one of the many mooring buoys (much easier than anchoring), you may then detach the WaveRunner from the boat for your enjoyment.

​HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE ON THE ISLAND CRUISERS? DO SMALL CHILDREN AND BABIES COUNT TOWARDS THE LIMIT?

​We have five Island Cruiser boats. Each Island Cruiser has a 12-15 person capacity rating. According to Oklahoma Boating Law, small children and babies do count towards your capacity limit.

DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?​

Reservations are recommended but not required.  As you can probably imagine, weekends and holidays fill up the fastest.  You can make your reservation by calling us at Water Sports.  We require a $100 reservation deposit, which can be paid over the phone with a Visa, Mastercard, or Discover, or you may reserve in person with cash or card.  For 90% deposit refund, one week notice of cancellation is required.  Otherwise, your deposit is non-refundable. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME WHEN RENTING AN ISLAND CRUISER?

• You will need to bring payment for the Island Cruiser; you may pay cash or card. If you have already paid a reservation deposit in the amount of $100, this will be applied to your total.
  
• You will also need to bring a credit card for your security deposit, which will be held as an open transaction during your rental.  You are fully responsible for your boat.
  
• You will also need to bring all passengers with you to depart from Water Sports.  They may not be picked up somewhere else on the lake.
  
• You may bring ice chests, portable speakers, flotations, and plenty of sunscreen!  Your gasoline, life jackets, and propane for the grill will be included.  If you plan to use the grill, bring utensils. 

WHAT IS A SECURITY DEPOSIT?

When renting an Island Cruiser, you will need to provide a credit card as a security deposit.  An open transaction will be held for the duration of your rental and will not be closed until all rented equipment is returned to us in the same condition as you rented.  We encourage you to fully inspect your rental before leaving the premises with it.  We inspect equipment both before it leaves and also when it returns.  Safety is a priority, and we understand that damages can occur.  We all know how quickly it can happen with our cars, and the same is true for boats.  So please understand that you are fully responsible to pay for damages.

HOW IS MY WAVERUNNER OVERTIME CALCULATED WHEN I RETURN WITH MY ISLAND CRUISER?

Each WaveRunner has an hour meter, which runs anytime the WaveRunner is on and running (whether attached or detached from the boat). Likewise, if the WaveRunner is turned off, the hour meter doesn't run.  When you rent an Island Cruiser, you will be given one free hour of WaveRunner time included in your rental rate.  As a reminder, your free hour will include the time you use to push the boat to and from your mooring buoy.  Any time over your free hour will be prorated when you return.  For example:

• If you use 2.5 hours on your hour meter, one hour is free, which leaves 1.5 hours to be prorated at $85/hour, which equals $127.50.
  

CAN I USE MY ISLAND CRUISER TO DRIVE AROUND THE LAKE ALL DAY?

Island Cruisers are not designed to drive around the lake all day.  They are better designed to be driven to a nearby mooring buoy so that you can use the boat as a floating dock and then detach the WaveRunner to use for driving around the lake.

CAN I BRING MY PETS ON AN ISLAND CRUISER?

While some pets do well on the water and on boats, others do not.  So for the safety of our customers and equipment, we do not allow pets at Water Sports or on our rentals.  Thank you for understanding.

CAN I RENT A TUBE, WAKEBOARD, SKIS, OR A KNEEBOARD?

We do rent these accessories if you are going to be towing them behind your personal boat or PWC.  However, towing behind a rental is not allowed.

WHAT IF THERE'S A CHANCE OF STORMS ON THE DAY OF MY RESERVATION?

Our number one priority is your safety. In the event of thunderstorms at your departure time, you will have the option to reschedule your activity or receive a refund. If you are already on your rental and it begins to storm while you are out, we cannot refund your payment. If you are concerned about weather being an issue, please check in advance before making your reservation.

WHAT ABOUT STATE LAWS?

Please remember, our lake is governed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and a boat is considered a licensed vehicle.  You will also notice Park Rangers who patrol on land throughout the State Park.  Whether you plan to be on or off the water, you must abide by state laws to protect yourself and others and also to avoid getting a ticket.  Safety is priority, and we greatly appreciate the dedication of our Highway Patrol and Park Rangers to help regulate safety at Lake Murray.  We ask that you take that into consideration, and please, use your best judgement while visiting.
